Join me on a health and longevity journey focused on the food we eat.

Welcome to Eat Better Food Today, where we believe that healthier living starts with a few wholesome ingredients. Please explore our blog, recipes, and podcast as we share insights and inspiration for a healthier, longer life through food.

We are also working in urban areas where healthy food is hard to find. To that end, my wife and I have created the Sante Foundation to support bringing healthier food, education and hope into these areas. Please visit us at https://www.thesantefoundation.org for further information.

About Eat Better Food Today

A man with gray hair, glasses, and a blue button-up shirt is chopping vegetables on a cutting board in a modern kitchen. The kitchen island has various fresh vegetables, eggs, and ingredients spread out on it. In the background, there is a stainless steel refrigerator, white cabinets, and a window.

Welcome Eat Better Food Today! I’m your host, Ken Counihan, and I’m excited to be sharing insights on why we believe that health and longevity begins with the food we eat. The Goal of this Podcast will be to inspire, educate, and enable folks to live a healthier life and do it affordably. My wife and I have been on this journey for eleven years and continue to work on it every single day. A percent of the profits from this Podcast, through my Sante Foundation, will go towards child hunger, an initial focus on the poorest suburb in America, East Cleveland in Ohio.

Our goal is to live to be a healthy 120 years old AND to help increase the healthy lifespan of those living in urban areas, where lifespans are 25 years less than in US suburbs.

And it’s possible. My great grandfather lived to be 100, my grandmother made it to 99, and her sisters are still going strong in their late 90s. With all the new research on health, longevity, and food, we believe that reaching 120 is doable.

I’ve had the privilege of working in the IT industry for the past 30 years and I’ve traveled all over the US and to countless cities around the world. The differences in food and health between the US and other countries is alarming. Together, we can change what we’re doing in the US.

Why are we here?

On our podcast, we’re going to chat with chefs, farmers, businesses, and medical professionals to learn how we can improve our health through better food choices. We’ll also dive into how exercise, sleep, community, and purpose play a big role in our well-being and even impact our climate.

To quote the amazing chef Alice Waters,

“As our soil gets healthier, our food becomes healthier, we become healthier, and our planet becomes healthier.”

So let’s kick off this journey together and discover how we can start eating better food today!

Gratefully yours,
Ken
